4/4/2008: Visitors
from University of Minnesota's Human Rights
Department
Al-Amal school was honored on Friday to receive visitors
from the University of Minnesota's Human Rights Department.
The school welcomed Kristi Rudelius-Palmer, Natela Jordan,
Patrick Finnegan and Bassam Bahgat. The visitors took a
detailed tour of the school. They visited several classes,
the computer lab, the library, and the prayer room.
The group met with the school administration and a few board
members over lunch. Several topics involving the core
curriculum, the Islamic studies subjects and the school
policies regarding discipline were discussed.
Several ideas were brought up to further the co-operation
between Al-Amal School and the Human Rights Center.
Al-Amal takes pride in hosting visitors throughout the year.
Its commitment to education takes a special significance by
visits like these.
