Standardized Testing

Al-Amal school gives an opportunity to all high school students to sign up for and take the IOWA, PSAT, and PLAN.  The EXPLORE test is given to eighth and ninth graders to monitor their academic progress.  Most colleges throughout the country require and accept either the SAT or ACT as part of the application process; therefore we encourage all students to try both exams during junior year and to take practice exams throughout their high school years. The PSEO advisor reviews the test results with the students, sends copies of the results to the parents, and meets with parents who schedule appointments to discuss these results.  Juniors and seniors need to keep in mind that test results taken through November of senior year will satisfy deadlines for any early or rolling admission applications; December tests may meet regular deadlines.

A list of colleges and universities that do not require the ACT or SAT can be found here: http://www.fairtest.org/university/optional

Test Dates

We will be administering the PSAT to our high school students on October 16, 2012.  Please see your advisor to sign up for the test.

Qualifying students can stop by the PSEO office to pick up a fee waiver for the ACT.  The ACT test dates can be found here:
